The Bible does not forbid the consumption of alcohol, so I will not attempt to make the case that it does. However, it does forbid drunkenness and it certainly does not allow for a night of drunken worship. However, back in July, Bethel’s Cory Asbury held a drunken worship service called “Bands and Brews” which was sponsored by Corona Beer.
The event was put on by Quality Brands of Omaha, an alcohol distribution company in Nebraska, in Werner Park, a minor league ballpark located just west of Papillion, Nebraska. The event featured plenty of Corona Beer on draft and Corona Berry Seltzer variety pack in 12 oz cans, featuring Blueberry-Acai, Strawberry-Kiwi, Raspberry, & Blackberry-Lime.
According to the event’s Facebook page, “Saturdays at Werner Park are for Bands & Brews presented by J&M Displays and Werner Enterprises.”
