The Evangelical Immigration Table (EIT) is a front group for the National Immigration Forum (NIF). The EIT is not an entity that even legally exists in the corporate structure. It is nothing more than a group of Evangelical leaders who, at the behest of the NIF, carry out the agenda of the NIF into Evangelical circles. It’s that simple.
In 2013, Ali Noorani — the executive director of the National Immigration Forum and a man who Russell Moore worked with regularly when he led the ERLC — stated that the NIF received about 10 percent of its funding from Soros’ Open Society Foundation. This was reported at TheBlaze, but you cal also verify this for yourself by digging through the Open Society’s 990 filings dating as far back as 2006 and even earlier to see that Soros’ Foundation has granted hundreds of thousands of dollars to the NIF over the years.
And it’s not just that the NIF is funded directly by the Open Society Foundation either, but it is also supported by MALDEF (Latino Legal Voice for Civil Rights in America), the ACLU, the National Immigration Law Center, La-Raza, and the AFL-CIO which are all funded by George Soros.
So in a nutshell, the EIT, a Soros-funded organization which the ERLC sits as a lead member, has now sent a letter to Congress urging them to give permanent residency status to millions of Islamic nationalists living here on “refugee” status. In an August 10 letter signed by the ERLC, the EIT says that “most Afghans have only temporary parole and employment authorization that bears an expiration date, with no direct path to pursue permanent residency. As individuals and church communities have welcomed and built friendships with Afghan arrivals over the past year, they have heard the significant stress that this indefinite status has placed on these new residents of their communities.”

The letter asserts that many of these Afghans “served the U.S. mission in Afghanistan at significant risk to themselves and their families,” which, of course, is only an assumption at best and even if true, would be a small minority of these people.
“Churches and other community organizations have given generously of their time and resources to ensure that their new Afghan neighbors feel welcomed,” the EIT letter said, “Now, we need Congress to act quickly to do your part, passing legislation to allow Afghans paroled into the U.S. to apply for permanent legal status, treating them just as those formally admitted as refugee are treated under U.S. law.”
The letter also urged Congress to make this move because of the “stress they feel” due to their lack of permanent residency status. To suggest that the United States should grant permanent status based on the stress levels of individuals is absurd. If one believes that allowing untold swaths of Islamic nationalists into this nation would have no effect on our religious freedom, one should look no further than Deerborn, Michigan. Christian evangelism is not welcome in the largely Islamic-controlled city.
Our nation and our civil government have a duty to protect its citizens from a hostile political takeover from Islamic nationalists or from any invading group, including the Southern border. The ERLC is urging Congress to remain derelict in its duty to do so.
It’s time to abolish the ERLC, and probably the Southern Baptist Convention altogether, as they have failed to represent Christ and the Church well.
