Justin Welby—Britain’s highest-ranking Church of England figure, yet increasingly more politician than pastor—demonstrates once again just how apostate the denomination is. When asked about “gay sex,” Welby says, essentially, as long as it’s within a “committed relationship,” it’s fair game.
Laughing and mocking biblical sexual ethics, he says he wants his “church” to be “inclusive,” and by that, he means stretching biblical ethics until they snap. Never mind Scripture’s clarity on marriage—Welby proposes a “blessing” for same-sex couples, because, after all, commitment is apparently the only qualifier that matters now.
Welby then assures us, in typical bureaucratic fashion, that no priest will be “compelled” to go along with this—leaving a loophole for anyone still clinging to some semblance of orthodoxy in a church that doesn’t even barely resemble Christianity anymore.
Welby’s real goal? Welby’s allegiance lies with the world—Christ and His church are simply inconvenient obstacles in his quest to conform to the culture.
