Adorned in a Planned Parenthood stole, a woman masquerading as a “pastor” of God’s sheep heralds the mantra of death as she celebrates her own two abortions from the pulpit. As the true church, largely compromised, at best, on this issue, stands silent in the face of this never-ending assault on the Imago Dei.
In a world where convenience often outweighs conscience, we find ourselves sailing on a ship with a compass that’s lost its true North. Remember when the Ten Commandments were absolute standards, not mere suggestions? Today, even as technology seeks to ‘connect’ us more than ever, our moral fiber seems to be facing its own form of disconnection.
It’s staggering to think that while we scrutinize the contents of our food for gluten, many are seemingly content to gloss over the sanctity of life. And it isn’t just the world; our churches, which once stood as fortifications for the defense of of truth, now tiptoe around issues for fear of causing offense. If one were to gauge the temperature of our collective soul based on our willingness to defend life, one might surmise we’re in the midst of a spiritual ice age.
It’s almost as if the proverbial “Dante” had missed a circle in his “Inferno”—where the silent, complicit leaders of the church sit around nodding in agreement with a world gone astray, too timid to be the salt and light they were ordained to be. As abortion is heralded from some pulpits, one can’t help but wonder: Is it the sirens of political correctness that these faux shepherds now follow instead of the true Shepherd’s voice?

With every chime of the modern-day bell, society dives deeper into its self-dug pit. And the church? Instead of throwing the rope, it seems we’ve often joined the chorus of digging. After all, why stand firm on conviction when the sands of cultural convenience feel so comfortable beneath our feet?
