The Episcopal All Saints Church in Pasadena, California, in line with the growing trend of churches around the world abandoning Christianity altogether while still calling themselves “churches,” has placed controversial ideologies at the heart of its pulpit. As illustrated by a recent youth-led service overseen by Pastor Michael Kinman, the church platforms children in the pulpit to openly endorse LGBTQ rights and abortion ahead of the upcoming Pride Month.

The utilization of the church’s sacred platform for propagating these views is less an alarming departure and more an unmasking of an ongoing apostasy within the Episcopal denomination. The church should to be a sanctuary for nurturing young minds in the truth of Scripture, but this shift demonstrates a stark deviation from this mandate.

Indeed, the words of Jesus bear particular relevance to this scenario: “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea” (Matthew 18:6). In light of Jesus’s words, the actions of All Saints Church reveal a significant misstep and the parents of these children ought to be ashamed.

Far from being an anomaly, the situation at All Saints Church typifies the current trajectory of the Episcopal denomination, where secular cultural trends are increasingly taking precedence over Biblical wisdom. This apostasy demonstrates the spiritual crisis facing not just the Episcopal denomination, but the larger universal professing Church, as it chooses to prioritize cultural conformity over scriptural fidelity.
