“Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness?” That was Paul’s command and rhetorical question to the church in Corinth. But those were the old days, and Christians aren’t beholden to that standard anymore. After all, God changes and fluctuates according to the whims of culture, right?
Well, after seeing what’s happened to Lecrae over the last few years, that’s what one might think.
Lecrae, who describes himself as a “rapper who happens to be Christian” and is “done with white Evangelicalism,” has taken a sharp turn in the last couple of years to align himself with the Pagan culture rather than the Kingdom of Christ. Over the last few years, Lecrae has made himself at home outside of the Church doors with Pagan rap artists who use regularly use foul language, degrade women, and make racial slurs in their lyrics. Lecrae is a staunch supporter of pro-choice Democrats, one radical pro-abortion Democrat, in particular, Stacy Abrams, and has downplayed the sinfulness of abortion and elevated what he perceives to be “racial injustice” above this murderous sin.
Lecrae recently slammed Voddie Baucham in one of his “deconstruction” albums, insisting that it’s people like Voddie that bring him down. These were his actual lyrics in a song he wrote speaking of Voddie Baucham after Voddie told Lecrae to “man up” after the Michael Brown shooting: And Voddie was a hero of mine, met with him plenty times This time, when he spoke, it cut me deeper than I realized…
