Southern Baptist Megachurch Kicks Off New Year by Worshiping to Foul-Mouthed Beyoncé Song

In the old Testament, Adam and Eve’s son Cain’s worship was rejected by God because he foolishly prioritized his own desires and feelings above obedience to God’s prescribed worship practices. Rather than offering worship that was acceptable to God, Cain selfishly presented the fruit of his own labor, an offering that was not pleasing to God. This demonstrated that Cain was not genuinely interested in pleasing God but rather was focused on doing things his own way and seeking personal satisfaction.

That is a perfect picture of what we see taking place in many megachurches around the world today. These so-called “churches” have become nothing more than Sunday morning entertainment venues designed to show off the skills and talents of a select handful of performing artists and present that to God as “worship.” And no church has taken it to a further extreme than Church by the Glades.

It is mind-boggling that the Church by the Glades in Coral Springs, FL, still has any association with the Southern Baptist Convention. This so-called “church” has consistently demonstrated its commitment to secular paganism through its lavish displays of sensual, worldly entertainment, including the Stormtrooper Dance, Disney Medleys, and covers of Beyonce’s Freedom. Most recently, the church performed a live cover of Kendrick Lamar’s N95, which contains numerous swear words, blasphemies, and objectifying references to women.

During the Christmas season, Church by the Glades took its lack of reverence for God to new heights with a Willy Wonka-themed Sunday morning worship service that featured a flying Santa Claus and secular songs by secular artists, completely devoid of any mention of Christ. It is truly disheartening that the Southern Baptist Convention continues to associate with this utterly apostate entertainment venue.

Now, to kick off the new year, this false church performed a rendition of the foul-mouthed, sexually immoral hip-hop artist, Beyoncé. The song they performed, a slightly re-worked version of Break My Soul, featured lyrics like:

I’ma let down my hair ’cause I lost my mind
Bey is back and I’m sleepin’ real good at night
The queens in the front and the Doms in the back (ohh, let’s go, let’s go)
Ain’t takin’ no flicks but the whole clique snapped (ohh, let’s-)
There’s a whole lot of people in the house
Tryna smoke with the yak in your mouth
