As we all know, the birth of Jesus Christ is a sacred and holy event that should be celebrated with the utmost reverence and respect. It is a time for Christians to come together and remember the love and grace of God, as well as the sacrifice of his son.
So it’s safe to say that a breakdancing Santa Claus at a church celebration is about as appropriate as wearing a clown suit to a funeral. In fact, it’s even more ridiculous when you consider the fact that Santa Claus is a completely non-biblical, secular figure who has absolutely nothing to do with the birth of Jesus.
But let’s delve a little deeper into the Scriptures to really understand why a breakdancing Santa Claus is not just ridiculous, but completely inappropriate for a church celebration.
First of all, the Bible tells us that we are to honor and glorify God in all that we do (Colossians 3:17). A breakdancing Santa Claus does anything but honor and glorify God. In fact, it mocks and detracts from the true meaning of Christmas, which is the celebration of the birth of Jesus.
Furthermore, the Bible instructs us to avoid anything that might be a stumbling block or cause someone to sin (1 Corinthians 8:9). A breakdancing Santa Claus at a church celebration could certainly be a stumbling block for some people, leading them to question the integrity and dedication of the church to the true message of the gospel.
Additionally, the Bible teaches us to be sober-minded and self-controlled (Titus 2:6). A breakdancing Santa Claus at a church celebration is certainly not sober-minded or self-controlled. In fact, it’s the very opposite of what the Bible teaches us to be.
But does any of this matter to the circus called Hillsong? Indeed, it does not. Hillsong, a veritable flesh binge that calls itself a “church,” is about as much of a church as Bishop Talbert Swan is white. But, like Swan, it will pretend to be something Holy while offering up pills that only flesh-eating goats will enjoy.
In Hillsong Sweden’s Christmas special, you can see the unholy alliance between this pretend church’s lord and savior, Santa Claus, and the entire congregation that just eats it up. It’s quite a sight to behold.
