Joe Scarborough, MSNBC’s resident “backslidden Baptist,” announced to his audience on his show today that those Christians who “pervert the gospel” by supporting abortion bans are committing “heresy.”
“I’ll just say, as a Southern Baptist who grew up reading the Bible,” Scarborough says, “maybe a backslidden Baptist but I still know the Bible, Jesus never once talked about abortion.”
“Never once, and it was happening back in ancient times. It was happening during his time. Never once mentioned it.”
“For people perverting the gospel of Jesus Christ down to Jesus Christ down to one issue,” he insisted, “it’s heresy.”

Besides the obvious, “lol, how stupid” that we can slap on that, the saddest part is that this man believes he knows the Bible and thinks that he’s a “backslidden baptist.” He does not know God and the Scriptures are replete with God’s repulsion toward murder—both in the New Testament and the Old Testament.
There are six things that the Lord hates,
