“Against the persecution of a tyrant the godly have no remedy but prayer.” —John Calvin
It certainly seems that way. This same theologian also famously said that “When God wants to judge a nation, He gives them wicked rulers.” And do we ever have wicked rulers not just in our own nation, but around the world today. In fact, we have rulers who exist and persist in government for the sole purpose of carrying out personal favors and their own personal agenda even at the expense of those they rule over.
And it isn’t as though they got there on their own, part of that judgment is the stupidity of the masses who voted these people in. Of course, we do not deny that there is malicious activity within the electoral system itself. That is evident and becoming more clear and more undeniable as every moment passes. But, again, this is just part of the judgment this nation is under—and our only hope is to turn to God.
In case you’ve missed the news, California has vowed to ban all gas-powered vehicles by the year 2035. That’s only 13 years from now. The AP reports that California will move to mandate that “all new cars, pickup trucks and SUVs be electric or hydrogen by 2035 is likely to reshape the U.S. auto market, which gets 10% of its sales from the nation’s most populous state.”

This will not merely affect California, this will affect us all—and this isn’t grounded in science, health, or any real climate data. It is grounded squarely in the desire of California’s elite rulers to pay the backs of their corporate fascist friends in the “clean energy” market.
But wait, that energy isn’t so clean, is it? And it certainly isn’t sufficient enough, available enough, or reliable enough to move a state or a nation fully into that realm. In fact, with only roughly 7 percent of the nation’s most liberal state’s new car sales being electric vehicles, the state is already experiencing power grid shortages and urging its citizens not to charge their vehicles and to turn off their “large appliances.”
Yesterday, the state issued a “heat bulletin” that stated:
…consumers are urged to reduce energy use from 4-9 p.m. when the system is most stressed because demand for electricity remains high and there is less solar energy available. The top three conservation actions are to set thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, avoid using large appliances and charging electric vehicles, and turn off unnecessary lights. Lowering electricity use during that time will ease strain on the system, and prevent more drastic measures, including rotating power outages.
Imagine, now, if not just 7 percent, but 100 percent of the state relied on electric vehicles, which, by the way, require fossil fuels for energy production required to charge them. If the state is already warning about blackouts at 7 percent, the entire economy is going to come to a screeching halt at 100 percent. But guess who isn’t going to suffer. Exactly, those who put these wicked policies in place.
