University of Mobile Invites Serial Plagiarist, Ed Litton, to Speak at Graduation Ceremony

What better person could a university pick to speak at the graduation ceremony of over three hundred graduates than a man who has been exposed as a serial plagiarist?

The University of Mobile, a private university in Mobile, Alabama—where Southern Baptist Convention president, Ed Litton pastors Redemption Church in nearby Saraland—has invited Litton to speak at the graduation ceremony on May 9. This begs the question: does this university have any academic standards?

After Reformation Charlotte broke the story that Ed Litton, like his predecessor, JD Greear, preached a sermon on Romans 1 stating that the Bible merely “whispers” about homosexuality, others then soon caught wind and began passing around the video and it soon blew up. Not only had Litton plagiarized that particular sermon, but video evidence began mounting that Litton had plagiarized hundreds of Greear’s sermons verbatim and also plagiarized sermons by other pastors dating back several years.

The Southern Baptist Convention’s president is a serial plagiarist.

Perhaps the University of Mobile is unaware of the scandal that has taken place over the last year during Litton’s tenure as Southern Baptist Convention president. Here are a few videos that might help shed some light. Here is Litton plagiarizing JD Greear on a sermon on Romans 13:
