Usually, when we think of Circus Church™, we are thinking of Hillsong–a church that literally puts on circus performances–or one of the many Southern Baptist or Evangelical megachurches that have turned worship service into an entertainment enterprise designed for the sole purpose of keeping people in the pews.

But that isn’t always the case. Sometimes we find the most ridiculous performances put on in small churches. Usually, you’re going to find this nonsense in a charismatic church. Charismatics believe that audio-visual performances that elicit heightened emotional responses actually draw people closer to God.

Here is one of those churches. This church puts on a ridiculous “strong man” performance of a very large man chained up to a piece of wood who is breaking out of these chains to the tune of the song “Break Every Chain.”
