The Southern Baptist Convention’s North American Mission Board (NAMB)–which is led by Kevin Ezell–has been under fire for the last several months after it has been revealed that Southern Baptist dollars have been funding church plants that do not align with the denomination’s statement of faith. In particular, many of the church plants have ordained women to the pastorate and even preach from the pulpit.
Despite the fact that this same entity recently held a church planting conference with women pastors, NAMB recently put out a statement that it would no longer fund such church plants.
Also of interest, NAMB clarified that it would not support churches with pastors who did not abstain from alcohol.
