Kundalini is a Pagan occult practice closely linked to Hinduism but also prevalent in charismatic circles of various other faiths — including charismatic “Christianity.” What often accompanies charismatic “worship” music is repetitive lyrics and beats that will cause people to go into a trance-like state.
Also often found in charismatic “worship” are erratic movements such as twitching, rocking, shaking, and even bursting into animal like behavior such as barking like a dog or clucking like a chicken. These erratic outbursts stem from a type of emotional and spiritual “high” that is similar to high induced by certain types of hallucinogenic drugs.
John MacArthur has often compared charismatic worship to the Kundalini Spirit which is a form of demon possession associated with the practices of Hinduism. As one of the most outspoken critics against the charismatic movement, John MacArthur ascribes the movement to Satan and demons masquerading as angels of light deceiving people into believing that their movement is a movement of the Holy Spirit.
John MacArthur reacts to a video of a young woman at an International House of Prayer (IHOPKC) rally who is experiencing this type of erratic behavior for the first time. MacArthur expresses sadness for her great deception as she’s being seduced by demons into believing that this is Godly.
