Denmark Seeking to Force Churches to Submit Sermons to Government

by | Feb 4, 2021 | News, Politics, The Church, World | 0 comments

European Anglican Bishop, Robert Innes, is expressing concerns that the country of Denmark is seeking to require churches to translate and submit their sermons to the government. In a mind-blowing act of violence against the free expression and practice of religion, the state may require approval before a church can addres their own congregants.

While the Anglican Church is apostate, the implications of legislation being considered by Denmark is far-reaching and would affect every Christian church and denomination in the nation.

In a letter to the Danish Prime Minister and Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs, Innes expressed desire that the Danish Government would “pause to reflect on the potential implications of proposals to require the translation of sermons preached at church services into Danish. I believe this overly restrictive step would constitute a limitation on freedom of expression, which I know is prized in Denmark, as one of the world’s oldest democracies.”

Other denominations, including the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark and the Roman Catholic Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union expressed voiced concern as well.
