Police are investigating a possible “hate crime” after a transgender “minister” in the Church of England complained that other Christians were causing them “personal harm” after referring to their “marriage” as a “same-sex marriage” because both members are biologically female.
Alex Clare-Young, a biological female who “transitioned” into a male and married another woman says that she is upset after a conservative Christian group, Christian Concern, misgendered their marriage in a video posted to their website. Clare-Young says she doesn’t want to exclude conservatives, but she doesn’t want to be excluded, either. So she calls the police to report the conservatives and complain that traditional, biblical values make her feel “unsafe.”
“I felt that [his comments] were leading to personal harm to myself, my wife, and the others in the video. It feels as if he is denying LGBT people the right to be involved in Christian worship. It describes me and my wife as being in a same-sex marriage, which isn’t true. It made me feel very unsafe.”
After Christian Concern was contacted and refused to remove the clip, she reported the video clip to North Yorkshire police who are now, according to The Times UK, investigating the matter as a “hate crime.”
