As a police officer attempted to apprehend a black man, things took an ugly turn as the man fell on top of the officer and began to brutally attack him.

It was at that time that things took an unexpected turn as several bystanders came in to aid the police officer and help him subdue the man. It appears that most, if not all, of the bystanders themselves were black too. It is this kind of thing that helps us all to realize that there actually is hope for our nation, for the chaos that’s taking place, and that if people work together, things don’t need to escalate to the divisive point of black vs white or police vs community.

But one of the most interesting things we see taking place here as that as the bystanders help apprehend the man, one of the black men aiding the officer places his knee on the neck of the man being detained and held him there as the officer placed handcuffs on the suspect. It’s interesting that the knee-on-the-neck incident only mattered when a white cop did it to a black man, but reasonable people, including reasonable black people, understand that it is a normal and viable way to apprehend a person resisting arrest.
