Francis Chan Says That Being Indwelt by the Holy Spirit Makes Us ‘God and Man all at Once’ Like Jesus

Francis Chan has been on a downward spiral for a long time. Chan is a graduate of both John MacArthur’s Master’s University and Seminary, an unusually solid, seminary that teaches rightly on such important doctrines as the sovereignty of God, the inerrancy of Scripture, and the cessation of the apostolic sign gifts. He was the founder and former pastor of Cornerstone Community Church in Simi Valley, California. Chan is now a well-known conference speaker, regularly preaching alongside questionable, at best charismatics such as Mike Bickle of IHOPKC and many others.

Chan, despite his solid theological educational background, is highly compromised. Earlier this year in April, at an ecumenical gathering of charismatics and Catholics, Chan removes his shoes on stage while several Catholic priests pray over him. At the same event, Chan declines to share the gospel with a Catholic, stating “I don’t believe the Holy Sprit wants me to.”

Making headlines a while back was Chan who seemed to have jumped off the bandwagon of traditional orthodox Christian theology and embraced the Word of Faith charismatic “faith-healing” movement. Chan was criticized for claiming that he healed countless people by touching them.

“Everyone I touched was healed,” he said, as the Christian world watched and criticized. But here’s what’s interesting — as of date, there are still no reported cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Myanmar despite being surrounded by other countries on all sides of its borders who have reported numerous cases.

Francis Chan has surrounded himself with the worst of the worst, and guess what, Chan — who used to at one point hold to some semblance of orthodoxy — has fully embraced the false teachings of faux faith-healer, Todd White. Chan has already embraced the Roman Catholic heresy of transubstantiation in the Eucharist and some, including one Catholic priest, have speculated that Chan will soon depart the faith and join the Catholic harlot and now he has fully immersed himself in the prosperity gospel and believes himself to be a faith-healer.

Now, Francis Chan has embraced one of the most aberrant heresies in all of Christendom — little-god theology. A mainstay of the charismatic movement, little-god theology teaches that upon becoming Christian, we become like God. Chris Rosebrough of Fighting for the Faith refutes this:

All should heed this warning: this is why the Scriptures tell us not to associate with false teachers, rather we mark and avoid them like the plague. Don’t be deceived, folks, bad company ruins good morals (1 Corinthians 15:33). And, we’ve been warning folks for a long time that Francis Chan has turned away from sound teaching and accumulated for himself teachers to suit his own passions.
