Father Robert E. Morey of Saint Anthony Catholic Church confirmed yesterday afternoon that Former Vice President and Democratic primary candidate, Joe Biden was denied communion this past weekend due to his pro-abortion stances.

The Roman Catholic Church has a history of pardoning those who commit the sin of abortion and the current pope has declared absolution in many cases of mothers who’ve committed abortions. However, denying a public official the right to participate in Mass is a rare event.

While, as Christians, we understand that the Roman Catholic Church’s rendition of the Eucharist is blasphemous and idolatrous, it can be looked at as both judgment and blessing that Biden was denied participation. Judgment in that his heart may be further hardened toward God and the Church, but blessing that he was unable to participate in such a blasphemous affair.

In short, God hates idolatry as much as he hates abortion — and the Roman Catholic Church is the central hub of idolatry.

“Sadly, this past Sunday, I had to refuse Holy Communion to former Vice President Joe Biden,” Morey told the Morning News via email. “Holy Communion signifies we are one with God, each other and the Church. Our actions should reflect that. Any public figure who advocates for abortion places himself or herself outside of Church teaching.”

It is true that those who practice sin are outside of the teachings of Christ and His commandments, however, the only thing that will save a lost soul is repentance of sin and coming to Jesus Christ alone in faith.
