Al Mohler is the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) and recently insisted that nobody would be allowed to teach at his institution who espouses the Marxist ideology of Critical Race Theory. The Federalist quoted Mohler as saying, “no one is going to be teaching at Southern Seminary from ‘the other side,’” of post-modern, critical theory.”

Yesterday, Reformation Charlotte reported on Jarvis Williams, a highly respected and influential professor at SBTS who admitted that his view of justice has been shaped by Critical Race Theory. Jarvis Williams also endorsed Revoice (gay Christian ministry) founder, Nate Collins and mentored Collins’ dissertation at SBTS on secondary gender identity and feminine theology.

Critical Race Theory (CRT) emerged as an offshoot of Critical Theory, a neo-Marxist philosophy that has its roots in the Frankfurt School and its methods are drawn from Karl Marx and Sigmund Freud. CRT teaches that institutional racism exists within every structure of society and that these structures are intrinsically designed in such a manner as to protect and preserve “white supremacy” in our culture. Further, CRT does not rely on factual statistics or objective evidence to support the theory, rather it relies on anecdotal evidence and personal experience.

The Southern Baptist Convention has been closely monitored by those who believe that the influx of Marxism through Soros-funded leaders such as Russell Moore who have subversively turned the denomination from its conservative roots into a social justice machine capable of stomping out any dissension. In fact, credible sources have alleged that some leaders of the opposition to the Marxist movement have received death threats and threats to their family, among other ungodly resentments.

SBTS has been the crown jewel of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Christian education system for decades, yet this school, among others, has been highly compromised by this secular philosophy and worldview. Following the Southern Baptist Conventions June affirmation of Critical Race Theory — which was spearheaded by SBTS professor, Curtis Woods — it is clear that the school has been overtaken by these ideologies. A video has been produced which highlights the extent of the compromise which features three prominent leaders at SBTS, Curtis Woods and Jarvis Williams, already mentioned, and Matthew Hall, the provost of the seminary — who is practically second in command after Al Mohler himself.

To continue to deny the damage being done at this seminary, and the Southern Baptist Convention as a whole is to be either extremely naive … or complicit.

Take a look.

The Reality of Eternal, Conscious Hell

There’s a growing fad in Evangelical circles—one as old as rebellion itself—where otherwise church-going folks suddenly decide that Hell isn’t real anymore. Not literal. Not eternal. Not conscious torment. Just a metaphor, a symbol, a poetic flourish Jesus used when...
