Whenever you think you’ve seen everything you can possibly see in the carnival of church shenanigans, there is always something to outdo the last. Stupidity awaits. A pastor at a megachurch in Concord, NC announced that he will be giving away a free car on Easter Sunday morning.

I guess now that Sunday morning megachurch services require corporate sponsors, Factory Church, led by Andy Williamson has invited the congregation of his church to invite their friends to service on Sunday morning, and, oh … visit the local Chevrolet dealership.

Things just got more interesting for Easter! … Soooo we could be giving a car away. I guess we should thank our service sponsor Marburger Chevrolet in Kannapolis! Make sure to stop on by and tell them thank you!! There’s never a dull moment on Sunday! Get ready…. Sunday is comin …. And it’s Easter Sunday! We have a ton happening for the whole family! Start inviting your friends and family. We’ll take great care of them!!

And if you stick around long enough, maybe — just maybe — we’ll mix in a little bit of that Jesusy stuff too…

The fact that the resurrection of our Lord and Savior isn’t enough to celebrate on Sunday mornings that it has to be soiled with the filth of corporate greed and self-entitlement is beyond baffling. The apostles would be turning over in their graves if they weren’t already with Jesus — and of course, Jesus himself would be flipping over tables in this idol factory, Factory Church.

The lack of theological understanding of the gospel and the role of the Church in these houses of harlotry is incomprehensible. Why even bother with church? Just open a casino already.

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths
