Recently, David Platt, former president of the Southern Baptist International Missions Board and pastor of McLean Bible Church outside of Washington D.C., prayed over President Donald Trump during a Sunday Morning worship service. The act offended many professional victims such as Kyle Howard who claimed that the president’s presence caused “hurt” and “pain” to black people and women. The baseless accusations and continuous victimology is a fascinating display of the division caused by the ongoing social justice movement in the Southern Baptist Convention — which, by the way, David Platt is a part of.
Jerry Falwell is the president of Liberty University, the largest Christian school in the US and is tied to the Southern Baptist Convention. However, Falwell — an outspoken Trump supporter — has been highly critical of the social justice movement and recently accused another Southern Baptist Leader of being part of the Evangelical “deep state regime.”
Now, in response to Platt’s written response to critics of his prayer for Trump — which many have wrongly deemed an apology — Falwell tweets that Platt needs to “grow a pair.”
Kevin Ezzell, president of the Southern Baptist North American Missions Board, took offense to Falwell’s tweet, demanding that he remove it.

Of course, the wimpy and weak-minded will see Falwell’s tweet as crude and un-Christlike — but I am reminded of Paul’s similar use of verbiage when writing about those who have infiltrated the Church with false teachings — just like we see today in the social justice movement.
I wish those who unsettle you would emasculate themselves!

I disagree with Jerry Falwell on a lot — a whole lot — both doctrinally and practically. I probably wouldn’t have made the comment either. However, one thing Falwell has been spot on about is the infiltration of change agents in the Church who are leading the Church into a progressive pit of ungodliness at the expense of the gospel.
