Jermell Witherspoon, leading Atlanta’s “Enlightened Path Ministry,” is a controversial figure, no doubt, embracing damnable heresies and marching minions into the pits of Hell. His amalgamation of the prosperity gospel, modernist interpretations, and extra-biblical sentiments not only confuse his followers but also represent a grave departure from Christian orthodoxy—and from sanity. His perversions of the gospel never seem to surprise me, though. Everytime I thought I had heard it all, he comes up with something even more blasphemous.
In his latest episode of sacrilege, Witherspoon preaches a sermon suggesting that God worships him, instead of him worshipping God.
What if God worships me?” Can you say that with me? What if God worships me? A God who worships me is quite the statement. I know, but follow me. Now I get it, we’ve started to worship a very big heteronormative white Jesus that we constantly thank for standing between us and a mean God.
The sermon then ends with another hellbound “pastor” Royce Yuen, closing with a prayer with the same sentiment.

We declare that you are God that worships us. That’s how much you love us. That’s how much you desire us. That’s how much you are for us. Or when we step into your presence, we come with our full selves.
