Ed Litton, who we reported yesterday that he would be delivering the chapel service at his alma mater, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS), where he would be focused on the “serious issues” plaguing the Southern Baptist Convention.
Today, he sat down with Adam Greenway, president of SWBTS, and told him, and all of the students in the audience, that what he did wasn’t plagiarism. He also lied and told these students that what he did was use Greear’s materials from different passages and that people have been able to line them up to make them sound the same.
Adam Greenway also parroted Ed Litton’s lie and claimed that the critics of Ed Litton are “anonymous.”
This is blatantly false and it was not simply materials from passages that he copied, it was stories, illustrations, and even jokes–that JD Greear had presented–and Litton presented them as though they were his own experiences.

“Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.” -Ed Litton” –Proverbs 20:30
He further went on to say that where he “sinned” was by not crediting JD Greear enough and that even he, himself, was mystified by this because he’s “transparent with his people.” Obviously, another lie. It wasn’t just him, it was also his co-pastors who were in on the scandal. We were able to put together a comparison of his co-pastor, Taylor Anderson’s sermon also which, as well, lined up nearly word for word in many areas with Greear’s.
But worse, he didn’t just copy the outline, it was his illustrations; like his Driver’s Ed story which was identical to Greear’s, the joke about Caligula’s Horse, and the joke about homeschool momma’s vs public school momma’s getting into a “UFC Rumble” over it.
Litton, once again, is still a liar who needs to repent and resign. Here are some of his videos we’ve collected and put together.
