RZIM Completely Cancels Ravi, Renames Organization, Removes All Zacharias’ Content

by | Mar 8, 2021 | News, Social-Issues, The Church | 0 comments

After the multi-generational saga involving the late Christian apologist, Ravi Zacharias, and his years upon years of sexual immorality and abuse of women, the heirs of Zacharias’ empire have decided to completely cancel its founder and remove any reference to him or his work from the entire world.

Zacharias is known best for his ministry apologetics and training at his Institute where he and his staff have trained hundreds over the years. Zacharias spent decades building a ministry that, after his sexual abuse was exposed, is now crumbling before the world’s eyes. While discernment ministries warned of Zacharias’ allegations for several years before he passed, it wasn’t until after he passed that they were taken seriously and investigated.

In 2018, it became public that Zacharias had been involved in a years-long “sexting” scandal and an emotional affair with another woman other than his wife. Zacharias admitted that he was caught up in the emotional aspect, privately in conversation with another woman who had been sending him nude pics of himself, but denied that it ever went any further than that.

Other allegations were made against Zacharias by a retired Detective Constable from the Ontario Provincial Police after 34 years of service that Zacharias, while a minister, pressured a teenage girl to have an abortion “if our careers are to survive.” To our knowledge, Zacharias never addressed these allegations.

In a statement released this weekend by RZIM, the organization stated that they are currently in the process of removing all of Ravi Zacharias materials from the web and social media and that the organization, including the Zacharias Institute, will be renamed to remove Zacharias’ name from it.

We are in the process of taking down Ravi’s content from our website and social media platforms, including publications, videos, and other forms of content, and we intend to change the name of the organization. Effective immediately, we are also discontinuing the use of “The Zacharias Institute” brand.

The organization also stated that its top priority right now is to provide restitution to victims of Zacharias’ abuse and that they have retained Rachel Denhollander, an abuse survivor in the infamous case of Larry Nassar, the former Michigan State University and USA Gymnastics doctor, as a confidential liaison for victims of Zacharias’ abuse.

This is What Happens When a Charlatan is Your Spiritual Advisor

Over Easter—of all times—spiritual charlatan, Paula White, stood in front of cameras and compared Donald Trump to Christ. Not subtly. Not loosely. Directly. She took the betrayal, the suffering, the cost, the language that belongs to the cross alone—and laid it at the...

That Moment When Paula “Jezebel” White Compared Trump to Christ

I thought I had heard it all. I really did. Paula White has spent years building a reputation as one of the most brazen purveyors of prosperity nonsense in modern evangelicalism—name it, claim it, decree it, declare it, speak it into existence. The whole tired script....

How the Church Failed at Dismantling the Transgender Movement

For years now, the modern transgender movement hasn’t operated like a loose collection of ideas. It’s functioned like a system—predictable, coordinated, and disturbingly efficient. Not chaos. Not confusion. A process. A conveyor belt—the transgender conveyor belt—as...

In a World Unraveling, God Still Reigns.

I wake up, grab my coffee, thumb the screen—and it’s the same grim parade, again. A man guns down a pregnant woman at a red light—her husband beside her—an unborn child erased in the same breath, and the system shrugs it off under the banner of insanity. Not...

The Modern American Soft “Jesus” is an Idol

The modern American imagination is an idol factory, and it has manufactured a version of Jesus that never existed. In this version, Jesus is soft-spoken, endlessly agreeable, and almost allergic to confrontation. He floats through the Gospels like a spiritual...
