To heck with biblical doctrine and proper contextual teaching of the Scriptures. That’s so old-skool. What we need are woke activists who can read the modern cultural zeitgeist into the text and contextualize it in a way that advances our cultural agenda.
Yeah, that’s what we need. And Shane Claiborne is going to fulfill that role for us.
Claiborne, a social activist who has appeared in several religious-themed movies, said in an interview recently contrasting the Tower of Babel with Pentecost that the issue with Babel was that “everybody was the same” and it was a “monoculture.” On the other hand, Pentecost was all about diversity and the Book of Acts is a “celebration of diversity.”
