In 2021, infamous Hillsong NYC pastor, Carl Lentz, was fired after he admitted that allegations of a sexual affair with an Islamic woman were true. Since then, Hillsong founder and CEO, Brian Houston, has been embroiled in his own controversies as sex scandal after sex scandal has repeatedly plagued Hillsong Church and the organization’s image had become increasingly tarnished.

Following the departure of Lentz, several other revelations have come to light, including another revelation–that Lentz repeatedly sexually abused a female staff member and blamed her for the abuse. According to a blog post by the alleged victim, Boston “pastor” Leona Kimes said that though Lentz never had intercourse with her or kissed her, he would make sexually charged remarks to her, gaze at her body inappropriately, and physically touch her in her “intimate areas.”

As this scandal unfolded, and Lentz’s boss, Brian Houston had also been released due to his own emerging scandal involving inappropriate relationships with women, thousands of stories have been written about Lentz and his wife including several on The Dissenter.

Since June 2020, Lentz’s Facebook page has been mostly dormant with few posts or comments for over the years. In 2023, Lentz landed a position on staff at the infamous false church known as Tranformation Church which is led by Mike Todd.

But in a recent post on Instagram, Lentz, along with his wife, Laura, published a somewhat cryptic video clip, somewhat of a trailer, with the comment “JUNE 4… new chapter.”

One can only speculate at this point, but it appears that Lentz is setting the stage for a comeback—possibly a new “church” of some sort. Despite his disqualification as a pastor, these people have a cult-like following and almost always come back. They can’t get a real job because entertaining their followers is the only thing they know how to do, and they have to do it to maintain their celebrity lifestyle.

We’ll be monitoring the situation. Here’s the cryptic video clip:

Check Out the New “Jesus Mecha Christ” “Transformer” Toy

A transforming Christ-meets-mecha toy? Yes, the “Jesus Mecha Christ” transforming toy actually exists. It's like someone sat down and said, “How can I mock both God and basic decency in one fell swoop?” This isn’t art or satire—it’s an abomination born from the unholy...

Christmas Hymn Review: Away in a Manger

Previously, I wrote an article calling for discernment while scrutinizing the lyrics of the popular Christmas song, Mary Did You Know? I knew it would be a provocative piece, as it was meant to be. However, my intent was not to dissuade you from enjoying these tunes,...

Christmas Song Review: Yes, Mary Did Know

The Christmas season has a way of draping everything in nostalgia. Familiar carols, the warm glow of lights, and the cozy rituals of family traditions tend to stir something deep within us. But more often than not, I hear a song that makes me stop and think—sometimes...

Don’t Lose Sight of the Gospel in the Incarnation of Christ

Christmas is upon us again—the season of twinkling lights, cheerful songs, endless shopping, and, yes, Santa with his elves performing acrobatics on our bookshelves. The world, predictably, is consumed with the “season” itself, offering little more than cheap...
