If you’ve been involved at all in Southern Baptist life over the past few years, you’re probably aware by now of the growing controversy surrounding women pastors and preachers. With an increasing number of Southern Baptist churches calling women to preach and to teach, in opposition to the Bible’s clear prohibition against such, the messengers at the annual meeting earlier this year past a constitutional amendment that would disfellowship churches with women pastors.
The end result of this amendment was the removal of one of the Southern Baptist Convention’s largest churches, Saddleback Church, for ordaining several women over the last few years to the pastorate under the leadership of its former pastor, Rick Warren, as well as its current pastor, Andy Wood. Several other churches were removed from fellowship as well.
However, despite the passage of the amendment, there are still hundreds, if not thousands, of Southern Baptist churches that have women pastors and preachers, either on staff, or are regular guest preachers. One such church is Church by the Glades.
Church by the Glades, the Southern Baptist Convention’s flagship circus in Coral Springs, FL, is a 10,000-member goat farm known for its extravagant performances and professional renditions of profane secular music and dancing. Some of its more famous performances include the Stormtrooper Dance, Disney Medleys, and covers of Beyonce’s Freedom—and more recently, the church performed a live rendition of Kendrick Lamar’s profanity-laden N95, which is rife with obscenities, blasphemy, and objectification of women.

Under the leadership of its lead pastor, David Hughes, the church has become a literal circus, with its acts of entertainment taking center stage—the essence of true worship and devotion is completely lost. True believers worldwide should be incensed by this distortion of the faith, as it lacks the reverence that God deserves. Were Jesus here today, he would undoubtedly express his displeasure by flipping over tables and driving out the money changers who exploit religion with this false gospel for profit.
Church by the Glades, this Sunday, invited Christine Caine to preach the sermon during Sunday morning worship. During the sermon, she introduced herself as part of Church by the Glades’ “extended teaching team.” Unsurprising, since she preaches at this church regularly.
Caine was a “pastor” of a Church that gives so many false hope. Hillsong Church is a subversive distraction from the true Bride of Christ. It is designed by Satan to turn people away from God by appealing to man’s carnal desires and is basically a dog-and-pony show with music that ranks not only on the top of Christian charts but secular. That alone should say something. The world loves Hillsong, but God does not.
Today, Caine is primarily a traveling social justice activist and Word of Faith preacher who is very close to other false teachers including Beth Moore, Joyce Meyer, and Priscilla Shirer, and she is the founder of Propel Women, an organization designed to platform rebellious lady-preachers at preaching conferences.
