The term “homophobia,” as presently understood by our contemporary society, is a linguistic construct devised by the political and social left to characterize what they describe as an irrational fear, aversion, or discrimination against those who identify as LGBTQ+ on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity. In reality, this term seeks to address the reaction to the natural stigma associated with deviant sexual behaviors, which have been divinely inscribed into the consciences of human beings by the hand of God Himself.
Grounded in the sacred scriptures, the only morally permissible sexual conduct is that which transpires within the sanctified bounds of a matrimonial union, comprising solely of one man and one woman. And though I feel I shouldn’t have to do this, to elucidate further, a woman is defined as a person who, unlike a man, lacks the presence of a Y chromosome. This traditional interpretation of marriage and gender is firmly entrenched in biblical Christian doctrine, and it is the bedrock upon which a robust and flourishing society is built.
The political left has strategically employed the term “homophobia” as a rhetorical weapon to assail Christians for their unwavering adherence to a biblically-based sexual ethic. This confrontational tactic has ignited a profound inquiry: is God, Himself, homophobic? In order to respond to this question, we must delve into the very essence of God and His multifaceted relationship with humanity.
The Bible imparts to us the understanding that God is a God of supreme holiness and righteousness, utterly incapable of tolerating sin or malevolence in any manifestation. Throughout the Old Testament, God persistently beseeches His people to renounce their sinful ways and embrace His divine path. In Ezekiel 18:23, God proclaims, “Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked?” declares the Lord GOD. “Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?” In a similar vein, Isaiah 1:18 presents the words of God: “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.”

In the New Testament, God’s response to sin is epitomized by Jesus’ selfless sacrifice upon the cross. Romans 6:23 asserts, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Through the crucifixion and subsequent resurrection of Jesus, we are granted absolution for our sins and reconciliation with God.
Nevertheless, this divine pardon is not an endorsement for the perpetuation of sinful behavior. Romans 6:1-2 proclaims, “What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?” Instead, God summons us to relinquish sin and lead lives of steadfast obedience to His commandments.
Make no mistake about it, the Bible persistently and unequivocally condemns sexual immorality as sinful; this encompasses any sexual activity occurring beyond the confines of marriage, including adultery, fornication, and homosexual acts—the entire LGBTQ movement, the modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah. Moreover, the Bible instructs that our bodies are temples for the Holy Spirit, requiring reverence and purity.
Biblical teachings assert that those who have been genuinely born again shall not persist in the habitual and deliberate practice of sin, but rather, endeavor to lead lives that are pleasing to God and aligned with His divine will. Individuals who remain entrenched in unrepentant sin have clearly not experienced the life-changing power of God’s grace and forgiveness. Consistent with God’s nature, He cannot abide sin in His presence, and therefore, sin must be paid for. This payment occurs either at the cross or through eternal separation from the resplendent glory of God in Hell.
By the world’s definition, God is certainly more “homophobic” than any mortal being, any conservative, Bible-thumping fundamentalist Christian. And many are going to have a wake-up call when they find God vomiting them from His presence because He finds the sins they adore so much to be so disgusting to Him.
