Northwestern University, one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the nation located in the greater Chicago area of Evanston, IL, recently celebrated National Coming Out Day by paying tribute to queers and homosexuals who have influenced “gospel” music.

According to an article on the school’s website, “It’s a fact that members of the LGBTQ+ community attend church all over the world.” The article went on to state that queer people “often hold leadership positions in the pulpit and in the choir” but for black congregations and especially for gospel music, “influence by the queer community is stronger and more common than one might realize.”

Let’s just be clear for a moment—what these people attend “all over the world” are not churches, they are synagogues of Satan. They teach and preach a false gospel and keep people in further bondage to their sin. Nobody can read the Scriptures and come away believing that men sodomizing and performing oral sex on each other is okay with God and anyone who claims that such a thing is possible is simply deceiving themselves.

One homosexual in the article says he grew up in a black church in Hickory, North Carolina, and was identified as the “church sissy” because of his vocal range at church. But to be clear, he wasn’t a sissy because of his vocal range, he was a sissy because he was an unrepentant homosexual and I’m sure that he never once heard the actual true, unadulterated gospel preached in that church with a call to repentance. That’s the real issue, these institutions masquerading as churches but failing to speak the truth into the lives of these people have resulted in an entire generation of queers believing that they can just continue to wallow in their sin and never be held accountable by God.

But the Scriptures are clear:

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.  And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. —1 Corinthians 6:9-11

The problem isn’t that they were once sinners but are now washed by Christ, the problem is that they are still sinners, they still love their sin more than the God who died for sinners, and would rather celebrate their sin than turn to Christ in faith and repentance, be washed clean and forgiven of their sin, and live a life seeking to please and glorify God. And it’s been these false churches that have paved the way for the wide gate.

“The choir in the Black church has always been a place where gay men could show off their virtuosity while exploring their sexuality,” said E. Patrick Johnson, dean of the School of Communication according to the article. These people would be wise to remove the name of Christ from their lips altogether as it will go easier for them on the day of judgment.
