There is no shortage of stupidity going on in places that people like to call churches—they are not churches, they are goat farms. Popularized by Hillsong, the Circus Church™ has become an icon in modern, progressive seeker-friendly churches. These churches have become all about the performance, entertainment, and experience and they have nothing to do with God.

Charles Spurgeon has been credited with predicting that “A time will come when instead of shepherds feeding the sheep, the church will have clowns entertaining the goats!” It didn’t take a prophet to make this prediction, but the prediction was certainly prophetic. Of course, Spurgeon probably wasn’t thinking decades or even centuries in the future, he was thinking about the current trend of his time. The theatre, during his time, had already had its grips on the Church; and it’s only gotten worse since then.

And while we’ve covered quite a bit, especially from a Southern Baptist megachurch called Church by the Glades that regularly indulges in this filth, it’s a completely different story when a church turns a youth group on to this and has children perform remixed renditions of disgusting sexually explicit entertainment.

Doing a remix of Justin Timberlake’s foul-mouthed song, SexyBack, these kids changed the lyrics and performed this on stage at church. The original lyrics are as follows:

I’m bringin’ sexy back (yeah)
Them other f***ers don’t know how to act (yeah)
Come let me make up for the things you lack (yeah)
‘Cause you’re burning up, I gotta get it fast (yeah)
Take ’em to the bridge (that’s it)

As you can tell just from the short section of lyrics from that song, it is definitely not something children should be listening to, and definitely not something a church should be parading on the stage by their youth. And before you say, well, they changed the lyrics, think about how many times these kids had to listen to that song to get the tune and the music down pat before they performed it.

Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.” —Mark 9:42

Below is their rendition:
