Last week, Jennifer Buck, the wife of Tom Buck—an outspoken anti-woke Southern Baptist pastor—released a story at G3 Ministries detailing significant struggles the couple faced early in their marriage. The article described a time when Jennifer felt “afraid” of Tom due to what she said was a “controlling nature” coupled with “anger.”

While the story does discuss uncomfortable issues, in the issue released by Jennifer, she never described his behavior as “abusive.” Instead, what she described was a beautiful picture of God’s “restorative grace” in their marriage through the wise counsel of older believers in Christ—the way that it should be.

However, the fake Baptist rag known as Baptist News Global, in an article written by David Bumgardner—one of the original “Evangelicals for Biden”—attempted to use this to smear Tom and his wife.

Bumgardner claimed to have received an “earlier draft” of the article that Jennifer published that he says used stronger language to detail Jennifer’s experience during this time. However, Jennifer herself has taken to Twitter to discount that notion and says that, instead, she actually feels abused by SBC leaders.

Tom Ascol, who is also in the run for president confirmed that there are several well-known Southern Baptist leaders behind the release of this article despite the fact that the article was written by a far-left God-hater at a far-left anti-Christian news outlet.

In a back-and-forth with Todd Benkert, pastor of Oak Creek Church in Mishawaka, IN, Tom accuses Benkert of lying about receiving the draft of the article prior to its publishing last week. Benkert is also a well-known advocate of the #churchtoo movement.

With what little is publicly known about this situation at this time, it is clear that these Southern Baptist leaders don’t actually care about abuse survivors and instead are willing to simply use anyone they can as a pawn to advance their progressive goals. The leadership in the Southern Baptist Convention is highly corrupt and their established power structure, as they have demonstrated, is not to be challenged or else they will attempt to destroy you.

It should be noted that Dwight McKissic, a close ally of SBC presidential candidate, Bart Barber, is supportive of this slanderous hit piece. One can only wonder if/what the political motivation for this article is.
