Perhaps you’re all aware by now that the nation is celebrating as one of the top headlines in the news this week is the fact that Pete Buttigieg and his homosexual lover are being granted the right to adopt children. The nation claps and cheers as the two announced the news to the world.
“We’re becoming parents,” Buttigieg tweeted, with nearly a half-million hearts clicked in favor of the news.
But in a rational world that acknowledges its creator, this news is awful. These men are not parents, they are sodomites who are now abusing innocent children and dragging them into their sexually immoral lifestyle and forcing them to accept it.
“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.” –Matthew 18:6

The Scriptures are clear on how God looks upon this kind of behavior. But These two men are not the problem in America–they are merely a symptom of the problem. You see, it isn’t just Pete Buttigieg and his gay lover who will be causing these little ones to sin, the entire nation is responsible for this. The entire nation now celebrates sexual immorality and even when there are those who claim to oppose it, their silence is deafening.
I do not deny that America was once a Christian nation; however, we must define what that means. By “Christian nation,” I do not mean in any way that America is somehow a nation chosen by God, similar to the nation of Israel during Old Testament times, for the purpose of carrying out God’s plan of redemption in the world. It is not and never has been.
I also do not mean that at one time, America was made up of mostly born-again true believers in the saving grace of Jesus Christ. I find that far-fetched and, likely, preposterous.
What I do mean by “Christian nation” is the idea that America was originally founded on biblical principles of morality, ingrained in the Constitution, and that these values were well-respected and believed by the vast majority of Americans.
Those days, however, are over; and those days will likely never return. The fact that those who profess Christ and claim to hold to conservative biblical principles are largely silent on the social evils taking over this nation when it comes to sexual immorality–yet these same people will protest election fraud and rally against socialism and wealth redistribution–speaks volumes of their motivations. Don’t get me wrong, these are good things to stand for. But the fact that they only stand for these kinds of things, but not when children are being taken into the homes of known sexual perverts with the blessing of the state, says to me that their activism is selfishly motivated. They only protest things that personally affect them and their own way of life without regard to what God actually thinks about it.
The church at large is silent. Her influence waning completely out of existence. The cries of the faithful can no longer be heard as multi-million dollar megachurch industries gather to put on circuses, showcasing their own trophy performers, while devoid of any meaningful gospel preaching. The few that remain can be, in some ways, be compared to the prophet Ezekiel who lied on his side for 390 days eating barley cakes baked on the flames of dung. The words and warnings go out, but the world keeps getting darker.
America, which used to be a light in the dark world, holding to principles of morality that glorified God, goodness, and truth, has now become nothing more than a catalyst for darkness. The freedoms we once enjoyed have been given away as part of God’s judgment on a nation that has turned its back on God.
“For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” –Romans 1:21
In many ways, America once knew God–or better said, God knew America. But God’s hand of restraint against evil has been removed. This nation has now devolved into a Romans 1 nation; sexual immorality, all manner of evil, a young generation that has no respect for its elders and is perpetuated by the indoctrination systems of our schools.
America does not deserve the blessings God has given her in the past. We have no right to the freedoms we’ve held on to for so long. This nation deserves absolutely nothing but the wrath of God. The Church in America has become a mockery of God’s true Church and a perpetrator of ideologies that are antithetical to the knowledge of God. And the Church is filled with leaders who are afraid to stand against it.
It is not that I want these things to happen to our once great nation–I do not. But we cannot be honest with ourselves unless we acknowledge that these things are happening and that we do deserve them. We have no promise or right to God’s mercy on this nation. As Christians, we have our inheritance in Christ. It is He alone that we long for and when He returns, all things will be made right. The suffering will end for those who are truly in Him. But in the meantime, when–not if, but when–this nation falls, we have nobody to blame but ourselves.
I’ll be joining Greg tonight for a podcast on this very topic later tonight. We love this nation and pray desperately for her repentance, but we acknowledge that God has the right to do as He pleases with us.
