Church Members Become Minority for First Time in American History

by | Mar 29, 2021 | Apostasy, News, Politics, The Church | 0 comments

Many predicted that the coronavirus “pandemic” would have a negative impact on church attendance even once the majority of restrictions were lifted. They were right. But the coronavirus didn’t actually cause the nation to suffer a loss of true Christians, it merely made church attendance an endeavor not worth pursuing for the unregenerate.

While millions of Americans abandoned the gathering of the saints for a televised, impersonal “church experience” over the last year, despite their negligence in obedience to God’s command to worship corporately, most maintained that they were still members of their church and still referred to themselves as “Christians.”

Yet, for the first time in history, Americans who identify as church members are the minority for the first time in history as a recent Gallup poll shows a steep decline, dropping below 50 percent.

The chart shows a rapidly increasing decline that, at its current exponential rate, will likely approach a fraction within just a few years. As persecution in the nation increases, those who want to be identified with Christ will find it increasingly difficult to live and function in our society. These people will ultimately find it no longer worth the trouble to remain in church and, as Scripture predicts, many will fall away.
