Here we go. Who would have ever guessed that the nonsensical transgender movement would have come to this? Now, the University and College Union has released a position statement on transgender ideology that includes a statement that people should be able to self-identify as “black” if they choose.
The statement, which was released last week, titled UCU position on trans inclusion, touts the organization as pioneers on the bleeding edge of intersectionality. In the statement, the following language is included,
UCU has a long history of enabling members to self-identify whether that is being black, disabled, LGBT+ or women. At UCU’s annual congress and further and higher education conferences, policy on gender identity has been developed over many years.
Some members of the union are critical of the statement, calling it “nonsensical” and repudiating the very absurd line of thinking that would come up with such claptrap. One member, Kathleen Stock says, writes on Twitter,
Stock goes on to say, “On grounds of academic writing alone, this is embarrassment. On grounds of coming from a Union who claims to support academic freedom, it’s an utter disgrace. On grounds of being rooted in a socialist materialism, it’s beyond parody. “

The problem here, however, isn’t really rooted in the absence of academic freedom. Apart from God, there is no knowledge (Proverbs 9:10) and to turn away from God is to turn away from knowledge and embrace total absurdity that is rooted in pure deception. This is what we see in this statement.
