We’ve been covering the chaos going on at Asbury University over the last several days whereby many are attempting to make the case that a genuine move of the Holy Spirit has sparked a revival among a bunch of college kids gathered together singing songs, cuddling on the floor, crying, and “repenting” of something—though, nobody as of yet has said of what they are supposedly repenting of.

We know one thing is for sure, neither the kids nor the school leadership has repented of their false teachings, feminism, egalitarianism, the social gospel, or their soft-on-homosexuality teachings.

But the chaos that is taking place at Asbury isn’t staying put, so there is clearly a move of something, we’re just not yet sure what. But now, students at Lee University, a private Christian university in Cleveland, Tennessee, are posting videos of a similar chaotic, “revival” taking place that is devoid of the preaching of the Word of God.

Here are some clips—listen to the chaotic screeching, screaming, and yelling out of place:

True, God-honoring worship is not to be chaotic and unrestrained. In 1 Corinthians 14:33, the apostle Paul writes, “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.” There is clearly a lot of confusion going on in these chapel services and clearly, nobody, especially the elders of these churches, are holding these worshipers accountable to any biblical standard. Paul reiterates this in 1 Corinthians 14:40, where he writes, “But all things should be done decently and in order.”

Clearly, the Apostle is teaching that our reverence to God should be characterized by peace, structure, and order, with a clear hierarchy of leadership and a focus on edification and instruction. The Holy Spirit will not lead believers into behavior that contradicts the teachings of the Word of God.
