If you need any more reason to believe that Andy Stanley has completely stepped into the realm of “gay-affirming,” look no further than what we’re about to present to you. But first, a little backstory. Over the last few weeks, Stanley has been in the headlines over comments he made during a sermon that recently surfaced. In that sermon, he argued that homosexuals that “love Jesus” have more faith than most Christians.

If that sounds absurd, it’s because it is. But since then, more has surfaced and more has been brought to light. The following clip that I posted on Twitter is actually from a few years ago. It is of a flaming homosexual who is bragging of being baptized at one of Andy Stanley’s Northpoint Church campuses, Buckhead Church. In the clip, he speaks of how the church was very open and accepting of his lifestyle.

We’ve also recently re-discovered Stanley’s affinity toward homosexuality that dates back as far as when he was a youth pastor at his father, Charles Stanley’s church. In an article we dug up from CNN, we discovered that he defended homosexuals in a gay pride march that was taking place in the streets in front of his church and that this was about the time that his attitude toward homosexuality departed from the biblical understanding to a more progressive, worldly attitude.

One pastor who attended a private dinner gathering with Andy Stanley a few years ago accused Stanley of taking “overtly heretical” pro-homosexual views toward homosexuality during the meeting and these allegations were corroborated by another pastor who was also present.

Stanley has consistently over the years trashed the Scriptures and encouraged his congregation not to stand on the Word of God for their authority. Stanley’s approach is pragmatic, attempting to win people to his false Christ by appealing to their flesh. And that’s exactly what Stanley will be doing later this year with parents of LGBTQ children.

Andy Stanley will be hosting a conference called “Unconditional” that will feature several pro-homosexual speakers. Before we get to the most egregious speaker on the list, I want to point out that it isn’t just Andy Stanley, but also a Saddleback (formerly Rick Warren’s church) pastor named Chris Clark, a Southern Baptist pastor, who will be joining the conference:

According to the Reformation Project, a “gay Christian” organization founded by Matthew Vines, Chris Clark and his wife are “co-leaders of an ETJ support group at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. Chris is a pastor at Saddleback where his role includes leading the Premarital Mentors and Church Counseling Training Ministries.” According to the same bio, their 22-year-old came out to them as “transgender.”

All of the main speakers at the event are on some level affirming of homosexuality and include Andy Stanley himself, John Ortberg, Greg & Lynn MacDonald, Debbie Causey, a gay-affirming counselor associated with Northpoint, and worst, a man named Justin Lee:

So who is Justin Lee? Lee is a board member of Matthew Vines’ Reformation Project. The Reformation Project is an organization that is dedicated to normalizing homosexual relationships and homosexual behavior in the Church. According to the website, the founder, Matthew Vines “delivered a speech at a church in his hometown of Wichita, Kansas, making the case that Christians should affirm gay Christians and their marriage relationships. His speech went viral, having been seen more than a million times and leading to a feature story in The New York Times. In 2013, Matthew launched The Reformation Project to equip and empower Christians to advocate for LGBTQ inclusion in their faith communities. He speaks regularly at churches, universities, and conferences across the country.”

But Lee isn’t just affirming by proxy, Lee himself openly promotes homosexual behavior and gay sex. According to Lee’s own biography, The following is an excerpt from Justin Lee’s website, he explains how his views have shifted from non-affirming to affirming over the years, and that he now believes gay sex is okay:

“As many of you know, I’m fairly conservative in my theological views.  I believe that the Bible is morally authoritative, that sex is for marriage, and that promiscuity is harmful to everyone involved.  For many years of my life, I also believed that all homosexual behavior was wrong – whether it consisted of anonymous hookups or committed relationships.  I believed, based on what I had read in the Bible, that even the most loving and monogamous of same-sex relationships was evil in God’s eyes.  But as I studied the Bible, my view on that subject changed.  I now believe that homosexual behavior is appropriate within the confines of a committed, loving, monogamous, lifelong, Christ-centered relationship.  Essentially, I’m arguing that a Christ-centered marriage is a good thing, regardless of the gender of the people involved.”

It’s bad enough that such a popular and well-known pastor like Andy Stanley is hosting this, but that Southern Baptist pastors are partaking in such filth and allowed to remain in good standing in the Southern Baptist Convention is mind-boggling. The former pastor of this church regularly praises the current Southern Baptist president, so I suppose we could put two and two together with that one.

And just as bad, another equally alarming association is former North American Mission Board chair the associate pastor of Florida Southern Baptist Megachurch, First Baptist Orlando, Danny DeArmas, says that he gets his inspiration from Andy Stanley, who is hosting this conference of complete filth.
