The woke movement is already a completely insane movement that denies actual reality and creates a false narrative that serves no other purpose except to breed division among people in the culture. But the movement in the Church has caused more division than anywhere else.

The movement is born out of a form of Cultural Marxism and the narrative is that white people, by the very virtue of their skin color, are oppressors of other ethnic groups. The idea is to destroy the “structures” created by white people that benefit white people and disadvantage blacks. The problem, however, is that nobody can actually point to a single structure that exists that causes this — because there aren’t any.

Nonetheless, the woke train of Marxist Evangelicalism continue to tug this caboose along despite the fact that it’s a dead and vain philosophy completely incompatible with the teachings of Christ. And here’s one example.

Pastor of Woodland Hills Church in St. Paul, MN, Greg Boyd, recently preached a self-flagellating sermon declaring that Jesus died to tear down these structures of privilege. After preaching that he doesn’t have to “get his life” from his “whiteness” — whatever that means — he then states that Jesus “died so that individuals can be reconciled to God and enter into this marriage-like covenant.” He continues, “That is salvation. That’s absolutely true and important.”

“But,” he continues, “He died to tear down the hierarchies of structure that privilege some over others.”
