As Reformation Charlotte predicted last week in the article Church is Now in the Hands of Anti-Christ Digital Media Giants Who Can Shut Us Down at the Flip of a Switch, already, we can see this prediction coming to fruition.

In that article, I wrote that these unregulated privately-owned media giants “are not required by law to respect free speech or religious rights,” and that “if these companies start facing pushback from left-wing activists to shut down churches who are preaching God’s word, they will not hesitate to do it, rest assured.” Well, it didn’t take long.

According to Ben Davis at Caldron Pool, Google has already removed the app for Christ Church where the controversial and outspoken pastor, Douglas Wilson preaches. Wilson, while holding to a few odd theological positions in some areas, has been a faithful non-compromiser when it comes to biblical social and sexual ethics — and the far left hates him with a passion. Heck, moderates and even moderate rights hate him. He was famously protested by gay activists at Indiana University for daring to step foot on that campus to bring a perspective that was in contrast to a completely godless, secular pro-homosexual worldview.

On Friday, Google suspended Christ Church’s app from the Google Play store after accusing the pastors of a lack of sensitivity and/or capitalizing on the current coronavirus pandemic.

The church received a notice from the platform, stating: “We don’t allow apps that lack reasonable sensitivity towards or capitalize on a natural disaster, atrocity, conflict, death, or other tragic event.

“Your app has been suspended and removed due to this policy issue,” the notice added.

It’s believed Google was referring to Pastor Douglas Wilson’s short lessons on responding faithfully to the COVID-19 crisis, and Pastor Toby J. Sumpter’s sermon calling God’s people to humble repentance in the face of the pandemic.

You can rest assured that this is only the beginning. While left-wing activists are pouring nails into church parking lots to stop church-goers from having drive-in services, cops being forced to break up small church services who are following the CDC’s social distancing guidelines, and prominent Southern Baptist leaders joining the chorus of the far left calling church service “reckless,” one thing is for sure, the Church cannot continue like this. The Church must speak and proclaim the Word of God freely and cannot be controlled by corporate media giants, government tyrants, or left-wing activists who hate what the Word of God has to say, nor can Christians be pushovers and let this happen.
